What is Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)?

Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a specialized physiotherapy approach offered in our practice as an intensive therapy.

It´s goal is to support children with motor development. Through intensive, consecutive therapy sessions over several days, movement patterns can be guided and postural control movement.

Who is DMI suitable for?

DMI is particulary used for children with:

  • Developmental delays
  • Neurological challenges
  • Muscular or orthopedic accompanying conditions

Suitability is individually assessed during the physiotherapeutic evaluation.

Therapeutic Focus Area

The treatment is always based on a medical prescription and individually tailored to the child. We have experience in physiotherapeutic support for children with the following medically diagnosed conditions:

  • Infantile Cerebral Palsy (ICP)
  • Spina Bifida
  • Genetic Syndromes (e.g., Trisomy 21, Prader-Willi Syndrome, West Syndrome)
  • Global developmental delays
  • Muscle hypotonia / hypertonia

Training / Qualifications

Training began in January 2022 directly with the founders of the method, Jake Kreindler and Jo-Anne Weltman. This allowed us to integrate DMI therapy early into our practice and gain practical experience with the method.

Laura Johanna Timm has completed the following courses:

Introductory Level A (2022)
Introductory Level B (2022)
Introductory Level C (2023)
